Venus from memory

Drawing art classics from memory. It's great fun to try to remember a classic seen many times. Here's Botticelli's Birth of Venus 1486 from memory. More in this set http://www.flickr.com/photos/36106576@N05/sets/72157629343307597/

I was pretty vague on the supporting actors.

Fancy border

I was inspired by a William Morris (Kelmscott Press) border I saw on my last visit to the National Gallery. These are great fun to draw. Very therapeutic. Brush pen in notebook.

Museum Visit

Karen and I slipped off to see the Japan exhibit at the Carnegie on Friday.
Objects were collected by HJ Heinz and others in the early 20th century.
Generally disappointing, but there were a few delights. (And lunch was good.)

Museum visits

Brush pen drawings from museum visits last week. Especially wanted to see the Albrecht Dürer exhibit at the National Gallery. Never miss an opportunity to see the Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum in the charming, old Patent Office Building.
